Presets
Save a whole brief as one choice.
Use a preset to fill every field of a brief at once and reuse the same setup for future videos.
What a preset holds
| Part | What it sets |
|---|---|
| Format | Length, aspect ratio and language |
| Presenter | The voice that delivers the script |
| Script Style | How the words are written |
| Video Style | How the edit is cut and dressed |
| Instructions | Standing instructions for the assignment |
A preset card summarises itself on one line, in the form 1:00 · 16:9 · English.
Using one
The presets sit in a row across the top of the Assignment Desk.
A few show as cards you can choose directly; the rest are behind a More presets control that carries the count of what is hidden.
Choosing a preset fills the presenter, both styles and the format together, which satisfies the three required slots in one action.
You can still change anything a preset filled. Open a slot and choose something else, and the rest of the brief stays as it was.
Making one
- Open the styles page and go to PRESETS
- Choose NEW PRESET and give it a name; a blank name saves as an untitled preset
- Set the format — length, aspect ratio and language
- Fill the presenter, script style and video style cards
- Add any standing instructions, then save
The preset is saved to your account and appears in the Assignment Desk row. On Team and Enterprise plans, everyone on the account can use it.
Saving a brief you already used
If an output came out right, save its settings rather than rebuilding them.
Open the output's menu and choose Save as Preset, then name it. The preset captures the combination the output was made from — one you already know works.
Copying an existing preset
Open a preset and use its options menu to duplicate it. The copy opens with every field filled and its name marked as a copy.
Change what you need, then save. The original is untouched.
Duplicating is the way to adapt a Prism preset, since Prism's own presets cannot be edited.
Prism presets and account presets
The two kinds sit in one list. Narrow it with ALL, PRISM PRESETS or ACCOUNT PRESETS, or search it with Search Presets.
Prism presets ship with the product. They carry a lock and have no options menu, so they are read-only for everyone.
Account presets are yours. They can be renamed, edited, duplicated and deleted.
A caution about the video style
A preset carries a video style, and a video style can override the script style the preset also carries.
Check the SCRIPT STYLE card after applying a preset. If it shows SET BY VIDEO STYLE, the video style is writing its own script rules — Video styles explains why.
FAQ
Does a preset include my footage?
No. A preset is the recipe. The material comes from the project you are working in, and Projects covers that side.
Do presets carry brand kits?
Not directly. A brand kit is linked by the video style the preset holds.
