Roles and access

How roles and account permissions are managed.

Roles are available on Team and Enterprise plans. Pro accounts do not include team role management.

Roles are set by an administrator

Roles are attached by whoever administers your account. They are enforced by Prism's servers rather than by hiding buttons, so a role you do not hold is not something you can reach by finding another route.

If you need different access, ask your administrator. It is not a setting you can find.

What roles affect

Role decides two things you will notice:

  • Whether you can reach account-level screens such as usage and plan
  • Whether administrative surfaces appear at all

Ordinary work — projects, briefs, scripts, edits and renders — is available to everyone with access.

Adding people

Team Settings has a MEMBERS tab, headed Team Members.

Team and Enterprise plans include team membership with invitations. Managing members is an administrator's job: if a colleague needs access, ask whoever administers your account.

Why a colleague sees something you do not

There are two possible causes. Administrative screens appear only for the roles that hold them. Separately from role, features are enabled per account, so two people at the same organisation can see different things.

If a feature you expect is missing, contact us.

Creating styles

Video styles come with Prism, and you choose from the styles available to your account. On Enterprise plans, we build custom video styles with your team, working through each one together.

Video styles explains what that means when you are briefing.

FAQ

How do I find out what my role is?

Ask your administrator. Prism does not display it to you.
