Requirements
What you need to run Prism.
Prism runs entirely in a web browser. There is nothing to install, but it does need a desktop or laptop and a reasonably large screen.
A desktop browser
Prism expects a wide window, a mouse or trackpad, and the ability to hover.
Screen size
The interface assumes a large window. The Editing Suite in particular puts a preview, a timeline and a properties panel side by side, and there is no compact layout to fall back on.
A laptop screen is fine. A small or heavily scaled-down window is not.
Signing in
Sign in with your email address on the Prism sign-in page. Self-serve accounts sign up and sign in for themselves.
On an organisation account, your account admin requests an account for you. You still get your own login, into the organisation's shared workspace.
If you cannot sign in, contact us.
Connection
Work runs on Prism's servers rather than on your machine. Scripts are drafted and videos rendered remotely, so you can leave the page while they run.
It also means Prism needs a working connection throughout. There is no offline mode.
Uploading footage is the most demanding part, so large files on a slow connection take time.
What your account controls
Some of what you can see depends on your account rather than your browser.
Features are enabled per account, so two accounts can see different things. Which sources you can search depends on the connectors on your account, and you can add those yourself: bring your own API keys for providers such as Getty, under CONNECTORS in the account menu.
Your account explains where to check what is enabled for you.
FAQ
Which browser should I use?
Any current desktop browser. If something looks wrong, try the latest version of another one before reporting it.
